JT’s Redbox Picks: Kick-Ass (2010)

Kick-Ass (2010)

I’m Jake Turner, coming up…the Redbox pick of the year, so far. Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and NICOLAS CAGE are in Matthew Vaughn’s comic book world known only as KICK ASS! Is it a blast or a rut? The Redbox has the answer! If you like what you hear, then comment on the bottom or if you have a different opinion…go for it!

  1. The comic was way better, but that aside it is a good adaptation. Acting was weak but an indie comic leaves little to work with. Good action but weak direction hinder its ability to be great or even decent

    1. I actually thought Matthew Vaughn does a solid job recapturing the neighborhood that Peter Parker/Spider-Man is originally from and adding Kick-Ass to this instead but also loved the music because it sounded like the Spider-Man theme but at the same time it was kind of a spoof upon these heroes. Didn’t Nicolas Cage look a lot like Batman? The acting was ok, I thought Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl was terrific and Cage chewing up the scenery but Christopher Mintz-Plasse is starting to become a caricature of himself…not a good sign. The action, music, direction and wacky storyline kept me hooked. Matthew keep them coming.
