JT’s Redbox Picks: 500 Days of Summer (2009)

500 Days of Summer (2010)

I’m Jake Turner, coming up Director Marc Webb injects freshness in the romantic comedy genre as he gets Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschandel together in 500 Days of Summer. Break-up or Move-in together? The Redbox has the answer. If you like what you hear, then comment on the bottom or if you have a different opinion…go for it!

  1. The first time I watched it I hated it. Reminded me of Eternal Sunshine on A Spotless Mind. But then I watched it again and loved it. I Appreciated the Mementoesque order of scene presentation. The acting seemed fresher the second time and the direction was solid. Both actors made a good transition from support to lead roles

    1. This was bittersweet to start off but I felt that this film had to be seen because its not sugary, it’s not corny. It’s real! This was a logical, factual approach to romantic comedies not giving us the hollywood ending but instead a realistic ending…starting off with a cup of coffee, nothing more nothing less. The acting was about as good as it can get and I see Joseph Gordon-Levitt will becoming a bonafide star. Excellent point of view, Matthew.
